There are four types of lavatory faucets. Centerset and widespread are the two most popular styles for the bathroom. Single handle faucets are convenient to use. The wall mounted faucet allows the most options for basin configuration.
Widespread Faucet
Widespread faucets have two handles (one for cold and one for hot). A widespread faucet includes three drilled holes that measure 8 to 16 inches from center to center. The handles are farther apart.
Centerset Faucet / Mini Widespread
Centerset faucets can use a single lever or be two handled.
Centersels are similar to a widespread but with a 4 inch center to center. The handles are closer together.
Single handle faucets
Single handle faucets are easy to control since there is only one lever. There is less control on the water temperature due to the mixing valve. Single handle faucets require only one hole for installation.
Wall-mounted faucets
Wall mount faucets are available for freestanding basins. Wall-mount faucets require a separate wall-mount valve and drain for installation. Wall mount faucets allow you to choose unique basins and beautiful long spouts.
