Materials Needed
* Low Flow Adapter
* Adjustable Pliers
* Manufacturer’s Instructions

Step 1 – Turn off Water

The first thing that you are going to have to do with any type of plumbing project is to turn the water off. This is something that is necessary so that you will not have to worry about your pipes being full of water and flooding your home whenever you adjust, move or take one apart. Even a simple low flow adapter installation will require you to have to turn off the water. Make sure that you open up the faucets to allow the water to empty out of the pipes before you begin after turning the water off.
Step 2 – Location

Your low flow adapter is going to go underneath your sink and attached to a pipe. You will need to make sure that you read the instructions carefully that go along with your adapter. They may require you to put it in a different location other than underneath your sink. Where ever it is that you will need to install it, the instructions are basically the same for attachment.
Step 3 – Attachment

You will need to get the valve of the pipe opened up so that you can attach your low flow adapter to it. You will turn the brass water valve clockwise so that it will open up. Once you have properly attached your low flow adapter, then you can close the valve back up and move on to the next step.
Step 4 – Water

Once you have the low flow adapter properly turned back on, you are now ready to get your water turned on again. You will need to go back to the same location that you were in whenever you turned it off. You will simply turn the handles in the opposite direction in order to turn the water back on.
Step 5 – Test

It is a good idea for you to test out your new low flow adapter on your vintage faucet before you finish up. Make sure that you turn the water on slowly after it has been turned back on. Once the water is on, check to make sure that the pressure is in fact lower than it was before. You should then look underneath the sink to make sure that there are no leaks.
